Meeting Related Questions:
1. What are the committees for and are members required to join one?
A: You're not required to join a committee and you can join as many as you want! Our committees provide members an opportunity to be more involved in the club and learn about a variety of different topics.
i. Translation and interpretation exposes members to Spanish in a medical setting as well as practicing common vocabulary.
ii. Pharmacy gives members a glimpse into pharmaceutical science, drug toxicity, and how to work in our own clinic pharmacy.
iii. Public health exposes members to all the health resources we have on campus, current events in public health, and involves planning and putting together educational resources for the children that come to clinics.
iv. Medical scribing teaches members some medical terminology, how to get a job as a scribe in the Tucson area, and how to be a medical scribe on clinics.
v. Dental outreach shows how to work in our own dentistry area in our clinic.
2. What are mentorship nights?
A: Mentorship nights are an opportunity for general members to bring the club together as well as to ask the executive board members any questions about their involvements, applying to graduate school, majors/minors, time management, other clubs, research, hobbies, favorite types of music.

1. Who can join and how can I join?
A: Anyone can join! There's four short steps about our membership on the home page. We don't require a certain amount of hours from you to become an active member. When you finish the steps on the homepage we'll be able to add you to our listserv so that you get emails and information from us :)

2. Do I need to speak Spanish in order to join?
A: You don't have to speak Spanish to join and you can join whether you speak Spanish or not! It does help to speak a little Spanish and if you don't you can always learn more at our Translation/Interpretation Meetings.
3. Where does the money for my dues go?
A: All the money that we receive from dues or any other fundraiser goes back to our community for local outreach and for our clinics. The money often goes to paying for prescriptions and other necessities to provide a free clinic in Agua Prieta. None of the money goes to any member of the E-Board or any other members in our club.
4. What payment methods do you accept?
A: We currently only accept Venmo, cash, and check. We are available to meet in person for cash/check payments or you can mail it to us.
5. Are you a religiously affiliated organization?
A: No we are not a religiously affiliated organization. We understand that the term "good samaritan" is commonly associated with the Book of Luke. We have had our organization's branch name since 2008. We don't discuss religion at meetings nor push any agendas. We accept all who are interested regardless of whether they are affiliated with a religion or not.
Clinic/ Passport Related Questions:
1. Can I still join if I don't have a passport?
A: Yes, you can join if you don't have a passport. It's not a requirement to have a passport to join our clubs but if you'd like to go on clinics it is, or supporting US documents. We have different volunteer opportunities in Tucson and different committees you can be in without having to go down to Agua Prieta.
2. How do I get a picture of my passport to you?
A: Please only give us a hardcopy scanned picture of your passport. Please don't email us a picture of your passport. The hard copies are kept in a safe place. If there are any concerns please let us know.
3. How do members get selected for clinics?
A: Members get selected for clinics based on their involvement with the organization.
Usually the clinic breakdown is in thirds of. Often times the second and third picks are mixed and numbers aren't always 1/3.
It is also often attempted to give members a chance at attending clinics for the first time and giving different members an opportunity to go on these clinics.
1/3: Executive Board Members
1/3: New Members, usually first time clinic goers
1/3: Returning members

1. How do I fill in the liability waiver on the home page?
A:
1. Top of the first page: This agreement (“Release”) is made and entered into this *day you're signing waiver* day of March, 2023, by and between First and Last Name of Flying Samaritans UA, CA (“Releasor”) and Flying Samaritans, a California non-profit corporation.
2. Last Page: You only need to do the Signature of Releasor: Date, your signature, and your printed name. You don't need to do the Witness.
3. At the bottom right hand corner there should be an underline where you initial. Make sure to initial on all four pages.
